Our target market is women and non-binary people who are searching for down-to-earth, unpretentious and pragmatic content that reflects their diverse identities and interests. Previously, we've had articles on subjects such as feminism, pop culture, TV/movies, music, relationships, business, history, travel and more.

Please ensure you’ve checked our website and, preferably, also have read at least one previous issue. This ensures you’re familiar with our style and what we’re about.

We do not consider applications submitted anywhere other than our Submittable account, including social media.

We encourage contributions from Indigenous people, LGBTQIA+ people, people from diverse cultural backgrounds and other marginalised people.

Orenda reserves the right to reject your application for any reason that we see fit.

We do not accept sponsored articles — if you're a brand looking to work with us, please apply for advertising.

Unfortunately, we’re still a negative cashflow startup, so cannot pay anyone at this point.

To maintain a coherent aesthetic in Orenda Magazine, we design the ads for you. This means that there's no need to hire a graphic designer — just provide the copy, links and brand images, and we'll do the rest.

We maintain an advertising–editorial content ratio of roughly 10%, ensuring your advertisement gets seen.
